he was born in 2268 to adam and jessica broth, two farmers a few miles from the commonwealth. his brother, john who would later be known as martie, and their father leave for new vegas in 2269, eil is sick so he and their mother say behind, but alas, adam and john/martie never returned.
eil was raised under the belief he is an only child and never finds out he has a brother.
at the age of 14 (2282), a suicider super mutant gets into their home and kills jessica, leaving eil wounded in the garden. he tries to make his way to diamond city, having been there the previous year but only makes it as far as a the outskirts of the commonwealth.
he would be found by a pre-war ghoul named raymond and his wife charlotte. eil woke up from a coma 11 days after his mothers death and would then be raised by raymond and charlotte.
at the age of 17 (2285), he decides to leave for the commonwealth to get a job or two, he promises to write and visit his adopted parents.
by the time hes 18 (2286) hes already taking the odd-job here or there, he mainly lives in abandoned buildings and rented hotel rooms.
at 19 (fall of 2286) eil meets piper wright, a reporter who lets him live with her and nat. still taking jobs here and there he gets a lot of shit for looking young.
at the beginning of 2287, eil is hired to deliver a package to the combat zone, known for being raider territory, he hires maccready, being told hes the best at what he does. afterwards, eil and maccready come up with a deal that any future jobs they will split 50/50, keeping them together.
after the lone wanderer (summer of 2288) leaves the vault and after the war is won, eil, maccready and duncan all leave to live on the farm where eil grew up, rebuilding his childhood home where he can make new memories.
